Buying a designer bridal and formal gown on a special order or off-the-rack or order online is rarely a perfect fit. Almost all women need some alterations to achieve a comfortable and attractive fit adjusted to YOUR proportions. Here are some pointers ordering the gown online. • It's better to order a garment that's too big than too small, as you can always size down.

• If your gown ends up being a little tight closer to your special day, don't worry! Dorie has a solution to ease your concern.

• Bring your bra and the heels you are planning to wear (or shoes of similar height) when you come for initial consultation.

• If you need built-in Push-Up hidden cups, Dorie can accommodate your needs.

Scheduling Bridal Alterations

Our alterations studio is a busy place and appointment books fill up quickly. Determine the date by which the dress must be done. During the busier seasons (February through Oct.), it may be booked up to 12 weeks in advance. To avoid disappointment and allow ample time to get it done for the event, schedule appointment the  earlier the better so we won't have to rush. However, Dorie accepts rush projects occasionally. Text (714) 343-9844 to discuss your for prompt service.  From Nov. through early Feb, the lead time may be closer to a month. Be prepared to have all foundation garments and heels available for the fitting appointments, so measurements and pinning will be accurate.

Wedding dress shopping is now easier than ever. Due to the many online options, the perfect dress is not only affordable, but so easy to send to us for alterations. Although Dorie no longer creates custom gowns from scratch, she does, however, perform EXPERT alterations for any gown. Whether you do the measurements yourself, or come for a more detailed and personal measurement service, we can give you the perfect fit for your special day!
